The things you hear in tech support.

Had a call just now, guy doesn't have internet. try tracing the network cable, ask him where it goes.

"It plugs into a power outlet."

Those of you who have worked in IT, you know where this is going. Nobody in their right mind would EVER plug a network cable directly into a power outlet unless they were attempting to engage in some sort of sabotage.

Turns out they were using one of those ethernet-to-electrical boxes to send the network to an area that doesn't have it. Surprise, surprise! I'm out of here, though, so I don't have to deal with the rest of this. Fun project for the next guy!
