STEMGeeks now indexes and can reward more than just STEM tag

avatar

STEMGeeks.net will display any posts created with the STEM tag. Those posts have the potential to earn STEM tokens if they are curated by users with STEM tokens staked.

While I feel this is the ideal tag for STEM content, the goal of the community is to embrace all four facets of STEM and not just focus on Science.

STEMGeeks will display and allow rewards on all content posted with the following tags:

  • stem
  • science
  • technology
  • engineering
  • math
  • stemgeeks

I believe this change will allow more relevant content to flow into our community but may capture more posts that are improperly tagged. Fortunately, only the posts that get curated by STEM stakeholders will get rewards.

Are mentioned previous, the following tags are muted from the community:

  • dlike
  • share2steem
  • actifit
  • steemhunt

While these posts may use one of the previously mentioned tags they will not show up on STEMGeeks or be eligible for rewards. These posts are generally 99% of the time not relevant to the spirit of this community it is a lot easier to just ignore them.

Its so awesome that you muted some tags. Definitely going to like this community.
Also I like that I can use the tag stem and not stemgeeks. The later only feels right if writing about the community itself.

I agree about STEMGeeks, in my opinion, it is better form. For example if I ran a photography community I wouldn't want people having to tag joesphotography and photography to get it to show up and categorize it.

By using "STEM" and now the new tags, you can just categorize your post and not add usless meta.

How do the creators of the STEM see the contents on Philosophy and Human Sciences? Can the tag be used naturally in these content or will it be blocked?

Now thats what I like to see, I didn't know you could mute tags for a tribe thats freaking awesome! I think all tribes should be looking at using this for un-related content

I was checking steemstem and stemq a few days back and found both practically abandoned. I was planning to write something on 3dp and post on either one of it and was disappointed with what I found.

I just found stemgeeks today and must say I am delighted to have a new platform to post stem content now. Thank you, guys.
