Now an official CoCoRaHS station

Super stoked to get my gauge today in the mail. I am now setup with a PROPER rain gauge, one that is sanctioned by the CoCoRaHS network for which I am now volunteer and station. CoCoRaHS stands for Community Collaborative Rain, Hail, and Snow Network which is around 10,000 people across the US who all use the same model of gauge to measure the weather then report their data daily. Today there were 8783 daily reports made between 7 am and 10 am.

I have wanted one of these for many years but always neglected to actually buy one. Now I finally fixed my rectal cranial inversion and am ready for Fall weather to hit.

I am looking forward to Winter this year so I can start measuring the water content of the snow, not just the depth. This will give me a much better understanding for when I go into the mountains as well. Knowledge is truly power in the wilderness.
