Anxiety On The Rise

There are some studies which have suggested that anxiety is on the rise, that it has drastically increased since the 1950's. Researchers have suggested that children today might be reporting feeling even more anxiety than psych patients from the 50s.

Social connectedness has been pointed to as a reason for that anxiety and we know that the pandemic also made anxiety worse for many, along with inflation and uncertain financial times. There are political concerns for many as well, especially those in Ukraine for example and other areas facing military engagement and threat.

There are a number of areas today in life that can impact mental health, social media is one area that many like to look to when investigating negative impacts of where children and adults are spending a lot of their time.

There is a multi-billion industry for people looking for help with their anxiety and stress in life.

It is anticipated that the anxiety treatment market will grow to some 16.26 Billion by 2030.

This is a serious problem that impacts many and the market has already come up with a wide range of potential solutions for people around the world.

Some studies have previously suggested that mindful meditation might allegedly be as effective as medication for anxiety for example, for many this is what they try when looking for help. How many meditation apps are there now in the app store? Stress relief apps have drastically increased in popularity in recent years. Fidget spinners boomed into a huge market we saw in the last decade too, people were wondering what connection there might be there as well between anxiety and fidget toys. Is it a myth or is there more to it?

There are a variety of calming aids, therapies, and more, to be found that have been proposed over the years. Anxiety is something that millions of people struggle with daily. Despite the popularity of things like meditation and fidget toys however, there are many who might say these things don't work for them. To the benefit of those who do need a solution we know that there are many areas to look today in the market for help.

Studies have also more recently suggested that perhaps engaging in acts of kindness for others might allegedly help anxiety in some way too by possibly prompting individuals to focus less on themselves. Some news reports have even suggested that the rising anxiety have pushed more into trying cannabis, it's clear that many people are looking for a remedy.

However, despite the seeming abundance of options and even digital tools & pathways available online today etc, it is estimated that allegedly 4 in 10 Americans can't access mental health help when they need it and even more might not look to seek help at all.

Web 2.0 created the modern "attention economy," and seems structured to fuel anxiety with clickbait headlines from yellow journalists, fear porn news articles, and constant notifications demanding immediate attention.

anxiety is an important problem that is spreading, I believe that it largely influences the direction that the world is taking between wars, pandemics and a thousand negative things.

But I imagine that it is necessary to learn to develop a system to control it, anxiety can be a great enemy.
For example, I allow myself moments of relaxation, positive thoughts, time to meditate... in short, I try to keep anxiety away from me with the strength of my mind, control and personal growth.

There are cases in which one must certainly turn to professionals but, I think, it is good to try to get to that point as rarely as possible.

Thanks for the nice post and sharing!
