Have you ever heard of TinyML?

in #stem8 days ago (edited)

TinyML (or just tiny machine learning) is the field of Machine Learning (ML) that is capable of performing on-device analytics of sensor data at extremely low power. Nowadays we are capable of running complex Deep Learning (DL) models directly on microcontrollers! Sounds cool huh? 😎

The field is important and has huge potential as the world is just getting smarter. TinyML is still an emerging concept but we will eventually start seeing a lot of amazing products created by using this technology. Microcontrollers use very little energy and they allow us to deploy DL models anywhere. Imagine the power of using ML integrated with glasses (AR), your watch or hearing aids?

Fun fact: did you know that this paradigm of running DL on microcontrollers is responsible for the “Okay Google” and “Hey Siri” functionality? Let me know what you think about this by leaving a comment below!

You can read more about it here: https://www.tinyml.org/
