We present today our top two handpicked post choices of last week, together with some statistics given at the end of this post. The selection process has been made by @lemouth (as usual, volunteers to help writing this post are most welcome).

Please do not be discouraged if you did not make it on this issue. The chances to be picked are low. In the meantime, you may wish to check these guidelines for extra tips on how your writing could be more effective (or ask for a mentor on Discord).

Our top choices

Nature vs. nurture: Oxytocin

It has been a while. Really a while. But @zen-art is today back and wrote a very nice post on oxytocin. She is bringing in a few scientific studies who tried to exhibit its effects. Therefore, if you want to know more about this hormon could affect our lives, follow the above link!

Answering questions about nuclear energy - Stable, low CO2-emission energy

In a series of two posts, @apsu enaged the SteemSTEM community (and anyone on Steem) by proposing himself to answer any question about nuclear energy. In the case you would have no specific question about it, feel free to have a look to the posts as you may learn more about the novelties concerning the waste, fusion and even more.

Statistics

SteemSTEM offers support to anyone using our app, steemstem.io. We recall that:

  • Posting an article through the app automatically yields a 5% stronger upvote at curation time.
  • Posting a reply to an article (or to another reply) from the app can sometimes yield some SteemSTEM support.
  • Setting @steemstem as a beneficiary to the post automatically yields a stronger upvote (up to 5%).

Last week, the SteemSTEM curator teams have supported 70 posts written by 49 authors. 28 of these posts have been posted through the app (and got a 5% stronger upvote). Among these 70 posts, we find:

  • 27 small upvotes (less than 20%)
  • 18 medium upvotes (in the 20%-50% range)
  • 25 large upvotes (larger than 50%)

In addition, we have upvoted 36 comments posted through the app, written by 8 authors.

The list of upvoted post authors, potentially getting some extra support from @curie, is:
@abigail-dantes, @abneagro, @aboutcoolscience, @afarina46, @anaestrada12, @answerswithjoe, @apsu, @arac, @autavio72, @bettervision, @borjan, @capp, @carlos84, @carloserp-2000, @carmincortez, @cervantes, @chappertron, @debo-medstudent, @dkmathstats, @emperorhassy, @empressteemah, @faltermann, @felixrodriguez, @geekpowered, @hongtao, @inertia, @iradyjr, @jga, @joshman, @kralizec, @lemouth-dev, @lesmouths-travel, @loveforlove, @lupafilotaxia, @magicmonk, @maribelf, @newton666, @satren, @scienceblocks, @spaghettiscience, @steempsych, @steevc, @stem-espanol, @svemirac, @tramelibre, @ulisesfl17, @whatisnew, @ydavgonzalez, @zen-art

In spite of the difficult moments that the chain of blocks is going through...the steemSTEM project is still in force and its authors continue to share quality content. Thank you all for contributing!

When I will be done with curation, I will generate some longer term stats. I think we are quite of stable at the moment and the app usage slightly increases. But the numbers will confirm this soon (or not).

It's true, I was checking the rank of the dapps and we have climbed several places. That is very important and the label is full of publications. Many authors remain committed to the community because they know about the potential we have here.

It would be great if you could share those statistics :)

Thank you, @lemouth for another Distilled. So many articles I missed! It's like looking at my bookshelf, books I planned to read and didn't get around to. These articles, I promise, will receive the attention they deserve.

There were many more last week, but I am trying to have an author rotation in the distilled :)

One of my programming goal is to add a small check box that would allow to only show the best supported articles (with a voting strength of at least 20%). This would be IMO a nice way to get "the best" in one click :)

The pleasure is for us. If needed, do not hesitate to ask for advice from our SteemSTEM Honour Members! They will be more than happy to help!
