2019 my year of investing

I ended last year with holding 500 Steempower which was worth about $100. Right now, I have a bit over 2000 Steempower which is worth around $260 at the time of writing this post, which means I've earned around 1500 Staked steem from curation and author rewards garnered through support offered by the community and various growth initiatives, however little or much that maybe totally depends on who's asking....

I choose not to highlight the liquid steem earned because there's conflicts in generating accurate data due to the amount of Steem I also purchased along the road, so maybe it cancels out, maybe it doesn't either way, I apologize for my horrible maths and stats skills, glad I don't have to do any in depth calculations for you to catch a glimpse of the idea I'm trying to pass through to you.

Its that time of the year when we are either visiting families and friends or they are visiting us. A lot of people want to do round up checks of the year with critical evaluation of their past or recent endeavours so as to make better steps or choices moving forward, some people just want to sink into whatever life is offering them and not bother about the former, I'm a little bit of both.

My journey on Steem has been like climbing a ladder, looking back is looking down, and looking up is moving on. Moving on is looking up a lot with little or no time to look down.

This time last year, if you asked me if I wanted a crypto bull run, I'll tell you I wanted it really bad infact there was nothing else I wanted more. If Steem had hit 8$, I guess my finances would be in a much better state right now, under normal circumstances. But to have a clearer projection of where one is going, it is imperative that one looks back to where he's coming from.

My first year on Steem brought a writer out of me, the second year an investor, its only a few hours to the end of the year and I'm having a hell of fun basking delightfully juggling both.

A bull run would have made a lot of sense, but I highly doubt if I would have been as engrossed in the entire blockchain technology as I am now in this dip compared to if Steem was valued at over 5$. As a result of this dip, I've been able to discover other ways of investing and growing my investment, part of my liquid Steem has also gone into purchasing stakes in few tribes, some of which are doing well today.

My point is, if Steem had been in a bull, I will be fucking comfortable only writing and earning from doing just that, even worse, I'd have been writing just poetry(not saying that's a bad thing), but I'd have been swimming in only 2% of what the entire blockchain space has to offer.

I would have loved to back up whatever I have to say about my experience in 2019 with a fat wallet in terms of price but that unfortunately can't be the case right now. However, one thing I must not fail to consider which has probably been the biggest highlight of my year is the amount knowledge I've gained over the space of 12 months in the area of financial and blockchain technology.

I had a lot of time with no money, my luxury was basically buying myself higher tiers of internet subscription to keep myself online, digesting articles and listening to podcasts, coupled with the fact that I chose to not power down all through the year. Yet, if you look at steem and me, how different are we, in terms of price and development...lol.

Now at this point we are, if Steem hits a bull run or finds its price at a mere 1$, I'm in a much better position to take advantage of that by pushing the right buttons I never knew existed in the early days when I was just a Poetic Artist on the blockchain. Also, Steem offers its investors a variety of options to diversify their investments in more ways than was available the early days of Steem blockchain, Steem-Engine is currently spearheading that.

With the way everything is now, do we really want a bull run? Are we done churning out ideas in distress? The same distress forcing out the strengths that are serving as the foundation of what we are committing our individual souls to in different ways today, some are inspiring, acquiring, while some are investing and others are creating,...in distress....are we done creating the "MIRA's" out of distress the dip? Am I done being all I can in this dip? Are you?

Steem has been polished in distress and so have I. At some point, it won't be about who is ready and what is not. It will be about what is presently available, if it will be sufficient enough to take charge and forge ahead even in the chaos of a bull. I look forward to Steemit inc procuring a lasting solution to the SBD peg, maybe hire a professional economists, but I'm sure one can be found in the Steem community. I look forward to many other things I'm too ecstatic to share right now.

Thanks for your support and thank you for always reading.

Have a blasty 2020

I agree that the pressure of the bear market is responsible for some of the positively outstanding new things on Steem and Steemit. I am equally enthusiastic about our future as the recent news along with the bear market improvements are making Steem a news item.
We are moving away from toiling in the dark yo the light of day. I hope this light brings better prices and a move back into the Top Forty Crypyos
