About Smart Media Tokens (SMTs)

I recently received an email from Steemit about Smart Media Tokens (SMTs), it is possible that because of my lack of knowledge of the deepest details I am missing out on much of what the email wants to communicate, but I thought it was interesting and worthwhile I plan to write a post and comment on what happens, maybe some friend or visitor can give me a comment that complements or corrects me.

Well, from what I understand, the steem blockchain is intended as a base or template or mold to generate or build custom tokens that can even procure their own ICOs.

To some extent, from what I read, it resembles the tokens that are generated from smart contracts with Etherum, but are responsible for pointing out the difference by saying:

They're like Ethereum's ERC-20 tokens, but with certain built-in ‘Proof-of-Brain’ properties and a token distribution reward system designed specifically for digital content businesses.

I suppose that some colleagues who are dedicated to the construction of their own platforms or applications, as well as the tribes or communities would be interested in this, since they would facilitate the creation of tokens according to what they propose with a "Proof" system with which they are already familiar.

I am curious what some colleagues will create having these opportunities, I have to wait and see what happens with all this.
