After so much speculations and what could be described as a long rope, the management of Arsenal Football Club have relieved Unai Emery of his job in the club, appointing former team member, Freddie Ljungberg as the interim manager.

Arsenal have been without a win in their last seven matches, the latest of these being their 2-1 loss to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League. These losses have culminated into the club's worst run of results for 27 years.

Emery took over the management of the team from Arsene Wenger in 2018 and spent 18 months on the job. Josh Kroenke, a spokesman of the Arsenal board, in a statement said that "The decision has been taken due to results and performances not being at the level required."

Some team managers have made solidarity comments about Emery's dismissal, wishing him well in his subsequent endeavours. One of these is Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp. "I was surprised. It's how the football world is. The board obviously decided they were not happy and they made the decision. I wish him all the best, he is an outstanding manager. He will be fine, I am sure he had big ambitions but it didn’t work out.” Klopp said.

After the defeat of last night, the Arsenal team resumed training this morning at the Emirates where they learned that Emery had been relieved of his duties in the club. The search for a new team manager is on, of which Mikel Arteta could be one of the considerations to possibly replace Emery.

He had it coming. I think the problem at Arsenal runs deeper than just the coach. FOr now though, lets hope some new energy and tactics will make things better
