Throughout the month of July, ill be looking back at historical moments from the past. From conflicts to coronations, sporting moments to royal memories, and famous firsts and lasts, with my love of all things shiny and precious, ill be trying to tie these events in with coins that have been created to commemorate these moments.

After a few tense moments and years of preparation, on 20 July 1969 Neil Armstrong became the first man to walk on the Moon.

Twenty minutes after opening the hatch of the Eagle landing craft, Armstrong stepped into the Sea of Tranquility, the Moon’s surface, in a landmark moment for science and humanity and uttered those unforgettable words.
These cool look silver moons were created by the Shire post Mint and i wrote about when i first came across them, some 2yrs ago HERE
I loved how every single moon was struck by the family run mint in Arkansas using traditiomal coinage techniques and antique machinery. Theres something special about non-mass prodiced silver.

Any how, @dfinney took my post far too literally and came through with the most amazing gift, which my son "1/2pint" duly claimed as his own.

Look how young he looks here....
So even now, we still may not talk as much as wr all used to, but to all mbeea of #steemsilvergold and especially @dfinney the community still means sp much to me. If you do want to reread my #thank you blog to dfinney, then you can find that HERE
