The world's largest fleet of robot-taxis rides around Chinese cities

The Baidu concern flooded the streets of Beijing, the capital of China, with hundreds of Apollo robo-taxis that take residents around virtually the entire city.

The company says its autonomous vehicles are among the most advanced in the world.

Thanks to this, passengers can not only quickly reach the desired destination, but also do not have to worry about their safety. Chinese robo-taxis can now travel on roads with a total length of up to 700 kilometers.

There are as many as 100 different stopping points on this section.

It is the longest in the Middle Kingdom, serviced by autonomous taxis and one of the longest in the world.

Besides Beijing, Apollo also serves residents and tourists in the cities of Changsha and Cangzhou.

But Baidu will not rest on his laurels.

The road network and vehicle fleet are to be continuously expanded to cover the entire country, and the government plans to increase the rights of fully autonomous vehicles powered by ecological energy sources in the future.

In practice, this will mean that the owners of such vehicles or their passengers will be able to count on the right-of-way at intersections and special parking spaces in crowded cities.
