The European Union is working on a law to protect us from IoT devices

This problem is getting worse every year.

IoT devices are becoming smarter, more interfering with our lives and have access to confidential information.

Cybercriminals see great opportunities in this, who can use such devices to attack us to steal important data or try to paralyze our homes. We have recently learned that the UK and Australian authorities have prepared a new law that imposes a new law on smart device manufacturers.

with adequate security against cyber attacks, and now we hear about the work on such regulations also in the European Union. The code for manufacturers is to force them not only to create an advanced security system, but also to frequently update device software in order to eliminate various holes

, i.e. the weakest points that can be used by hackers to attack and take control over them or steal confidential data about us. According to the information provided by the EU authorities, the law will apply to all electronic devices that can connect to the global network,

thus they are able to communicate with each other and exchange information.

The new law is to come into force next year and the EU authorities are very pleased with such steps.

If officials did not impose new obligations on manufacturers, they would sell unprotected devices, and therefore, instead of making our lives easier, they could turn it into a nightmare, if cybercriminals came into possession of our confidential information and demand a high ransom for it.
