After a failed attempt due to meteorological causes, the Falcon 9 rocket carrying the Crew Dragon capsule carrying two astronauts to the space station (ISS) took off yesterday.

After successfully carrying materials for the ISS on previous flights, for the first time the SpaceX company owned by Elon Musk, manages to bring humans into space without incident.

In this passenger version the capsule has been fitted with an emergency system, designed to separate the capsule from the rocket in case things get ugly, which had already been successfully tested earlier this year.

Next July 20 marks five years since NASA launched the last space shuttle, and since then, the United States has had to rely on Russia and its Soyuz spacecraft to send supplies and astronauts to the International Space Station.

As usual, the rockets used in the different phases of the launch return to land and land on a platform placed for this purpose in the Atlantic, instead of being discarded as before.

With this launch, SpaceX has become the first private company capable of such a huge challenge, marking the beginning of the space race with private capital, which will soon be followed by companies such as Amazon or Virgin Galactic.

All of this will give Elon Musk wings to continue his project of taking people first to the Moon and then to Mars, aboard his Starship powered by the Falcon Big.

By the way, I think there are still vacancies in the Mars One project for a trip to Mars with no return, you just have to be over 18, know English and be in good physical shape.
