Legendary theoretical physicist Freeman Dyson dies at 96

Freeman Dyson was born in England in 1926 and moved to the US in 1947 where he soon stood out as a theoretical physicist in the field of quantum electrodynamics (QED).

First it would be known with projects branded as crazy as the Orion project, aimed at creating a spacecraft propelled by atomic explosions.

Today, this technology is still the best way to travel throughout the solar system in a matter of days or months but, the drawback is that spacecraft would have to be launched with thousands of nuclear devices inside, which, definitely, does not cool.

But perhaps what Freeman Dyson is best known for is his "Dyson Sphere ", a spherical structure around the Sun, which would take advantage of all his energy.

In the "Kardashev Scale" , there are 3 types of future civilizations, depending on the energy use they make, those of Type I capable of exploiting all the energy of their planet, those of type II that are able to use all the energy of their star and those of type III that could harness all the energy of their galaxy.

In type II civilizations it is where this spherical structure could be constructed capable of absorbing and sending to earth all that energy collected by the sphere surrounding the Sun.

Another concept invented by Dyson was the "Dyson tree", a genetically modified plant to survive in a vacuum, which could grow in comets taking advantage of cometary organic substances.

It should also be noted in Freeman Dyson that, without denying climate change, he has always maintained a fairly critical stance with the intergovernmental panel on climate change and its increasingly exacerbated pseudo-religious behavior.

With Freeman Dyson we are leaving one of those mythical figures capable of contributing to science decisively and at the same time make us dream big.

Go from here my humblest tribute.
