    *The Life of Parmenides

Parmenides, one of the most important philosophers of presocratic thought, appears as the turning point of this period. According to the information received, he lived between the end of the sixth century and the beginning of the fifth century BC. As a first step in his philosophical adventure, he started as a student of Pythagorean mathematics and philosophy. Later, Parmanides developed his own philosophy and abandoned the Pythagorean philosophy. As a political view, he was on the side of the aristocracy or aristocracy. It is seen that even those who do not support the ideas of Parmenides, who have had a great impact on those who come after him, care about his argument. Some of his poems, which are divided into two parts as "Sight road" and "Truth road", have survived to the present day.

   *Parmenides'in Hayatı

    **Parmenides' Metaphysics

Revealing one of the most important metaphysical theories in the history of thought, Parmenides asserts the absolute unity and reality of the one. Parmenides believes in the idea of absolute unity of enduring reality. From this point of view, Parmenides refers to the principle of identity. He entered the thought of "being exists" or "existing is". According to that; (i) "Asset exists" or "A is A" (ii) "entity does not exist" or "A is not A" (iii) "being both exists and does not exist" or "A is both A and not A." There are three different research paths or views that can be expressed as Where did being come into being? There are two answers to your question. First, being came to being from being, and second, being came from non-being. That is to say, the second alternative came from nothing. Parmenides does not accept this. Not only Parmenides, but all Greek philosophers do not. Parmenides accepts the principle of sufficient reason. The result that follows from this is that existence cannot have come from non-existent. According to Parmenides, there is no part of being. It says that the being is one and that its parts do not exist. Being without parts, according to him, is at the same time indivisible and continuous.

    **Parmenides'in Metafizik'i

Ona göre;
(i)"Varlık vardır" veya "A A'dır"
A dır hemde A değildir."
