Did you know that the San Diego Premier for Fantastic Fungi is this Tuesday in Coronado?

It already played in Solana Beach and hopefully, will come back to San Diego since Tuesday's performance is already sold out. It will be very special since the filmmaker will be here to answer questions. So will be Mycologist Paul Stamets. I have been to one of his lectures before and he has so much knowledge!

What also makes my heart sing is that he is very accomplished and successful but didn't have such a great time at school. As a former homeschooler, I love to see people succeed that did not follow the "usual" path.

Here is an exert from the movie summary.

Fantastic Fungi, directed by Louie Schwartzberg, is a consciousness-shifting film that takes us on an immersive journey through time and scale into the magical earth beneath our feet, an underground network that can heal and save our planet. Through the eyes of renowned scientists and mycologists like Paul Stamets, best-selling authors Michael Pollan, Eugenia Bone, Andrew Weil, and others, we become aware of the beauty, intelligence and solutions the fungi kingdom offer us in response to some of our most pressing medical, therapeutic, and environmental challenges.

I wonder if we can use "mushrooms" to clean up some of the muck that we can see at Fiesta Island when the tide is out.

I have also been thinking that the storm drain needs a huge net like the ones they have in other countries that sort of filters the water that comes out.

I have been going there my whole life and this past summer I decided that (even though it will probably make my dad cry) I won't be letting my kids swim there anymore.

It's sad how disgusting its gotten...

For sure!! You and my husband could rant together on this topic!! It is a shame that a city that gets a lot of money from tourist $ doesn't take better care of its beaches
