I loved my Amiga, I had a a500,a1200 and a a2000, sadly left the 200 in the garage and the motherboard corroded :-(

The batteries are time bombs and will corrode eventually damaging the motherboard if not removed no matter where you keep it. Of course moisture causes corrosion too... Capacitors also commonly fail on older computers (I think the Amiga 1200 is particularly bad about that).
