3D Printing a Human Skull + More

Happy Monday.

What's going on guys? Hope you're having a great day so far. Mine started out not so great so I'm tying to turn it around. Ordered breakfast, got charged twice, and the order was completely wrong. Then I found out the title for a used car I bought is no good so having to deal with that. It's also the day I was supposed to be leaving for vacation and because of this title bullshit... I have to postpone. Anyway... Enough ranting, I just needed to vent a bit.

So... What did you print?

I have always had a fascination with skulls. Ever since I was a kid, I always wanted to be a skeleton for Halloween. I always had skull decorations, and even to this day I have a small skull on my desk. So I thought it was time I printed a new bad ass skull for my desk. Found a model very quickly on Thingiverse and got to slicing. I used tree supports for this one with 10% infill. Printed with rainbow silk PLA+ filament and it took approximately 19 hours.

The cool thing about tree supports is.. It literally makes tree shaped supports that usually all come off in one piece very cleanly. If you have never used tree supports I highly recommend enabling experimental features in Cura and using them over regular supports.

Before anyone says anything... Yes, I know my print bed needs to be cleaned. Still looking for the best solution to clean with. I currently have been using windex,soapy water, or pledge. If you have a recommendation for cleaning adhesive off a glass print bed please let me know in the comments.

But you said there was more?

There is. Unfortunately I do not have a timelapse for this one but I printed the screaming sun from Rick and Morty. It came out perfect and is not hanging on the wall next to my desk.

This one would have been perfect but my cat seems to be obsessed with the tiny pi camera. Trying to figure out how to keep her away from it. Rendered 1080P 30FPS.
