Bummer, I can't give you an upvote, time is already up. I found your article very useful and I am having the exact same thoughts. I changed browser and searching engine the other day at my working place. Now the opening window is empty and clean and not full of adds and other crap.

Actually, I never was online with my mobile phone and I would probably not have a smart phone, if it wasn't given to me. But I barely carry it around and only use it for work appointments and little else. Otherwise the thing stays home when I am out. Last year I canceled my amazon prime account (for known reasons), my norton virus protection and stuff like that, facebook I haven't visited for years and then buried my account also last year. I don't care what's written there. Twitter I never bothered to look at. It's all gossip, if you ask me, like the most things published. It's a mega hypnotizing machinery and I don't like to be hypnotized :)

Glad to see at least here a bunch of people with some solid senses.
