Looking Back on 2021 and ’22 Predictions

A letter inspired by the above article.

Elon holds ETH. Imagine? I didn’t know what to think of this except for the fact that I share something in common with someone largely more profitable than I am. Take that as you will. As for ambition, I don’t think he’s got me beat just yet, since this was my year. I won’t get another one until 2033. An Ox tear occurs every 12 years after all. Though I cannot even fathom what ’22 holds in store for us.

NFT’s

Nothing’s fighting tokens. To me, whether or not you agree or disagree on their utility, this tech remains part of a large slue of opportunities for the Internet of value. For Hive to produce their own punks doesn’t surprise me. To have observed this year from an investor’s standpoint, I gathered a lot of intelligence I wish to translate into results. My tastes and preferences include collectibles and digital arts, gaming and music. I mean, if soulja boy can accept DOGE for his NFT album, I can certainly earn tokens for my photography. I lacked conviction in that, listening to the constant drone of dissenting naysayers. A peanut gallery of pessimists conflicted with my ideals, suggesting my line of work risks much and rewards too little. I forget their names already. I have much to do before the next Ox year.

I feared missing out on the recent run from Shiba Inu. I am at a loss in that holding. Lesson learned.

Bridges hold the potential to connect communities, assets, and efforts. I found this to be true over the year and studied their impact in the ecosystem heavily these past three months. My findings varied; other tokens performed well while others flagged. I have a high conviction in the Solana, Luna Terra and Fantom ecosystems. Namely, Brave’s partnership with Solana cemented the stance at the conference in Portugal. I have my disagreements with Binance, and thus refrain from allocations there at this time.

Where I see a potential for myself and third world economies like Haiti, others suggest government intervention. I counter their offer of aid with autonomy in the form of blockchain. Just ask El Salvador. Aside from the conditions that inspire a need and want for Bitcoin, I see many applications for wallets, private keys, staking rewards and financial freedom via digital assets.
China’s got their own CBDC’s. Where is the US? Where are you? Are countries in on some information I don’t have?

Regulation rolls like molasses, but that’s on the way. Conflicting views are an all American classic for legislation. Pleased to see the CEO’s of six different crypto companies speak on the need for the States to enter this battle for blockchain. Other countries like tech a lot more, it would seem.

I cannot speak too much on the matter, but I learned a lenient lesson on the trust in new opportunities. Due diligence lost out to greed when realizing new opportunities, especially as the risk appetite grew after consuming significant gains. Undoubtedly, HIVE remains my number one performer in terms of utility and exchange. I sacrificed some of that performance to participate in risky business. Without too much detail, the venture fell through. Such is the nature of volatility especially novel investments like cryptocurrency. However, had I given more credence to the reliable, trusted players in the game and approached my research impartially, I already possessed ample opportunity to earn. Placing a bet like that again seems dubious, at best. I write this out as a reminder to avoid turning green with envy over others’ gains and seek out chances while jaded.

However, as a result for handling junk assets, I realized the gold in my hands. I hold high conviction in Sushiswap. I strive for the glory of Olympus. Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic, thus I will Abracadabra Alakazam some tokens in my plan.
They even suggest Ethereum and those stupid NFT’s are carbon negative. I have it on good authority KIima and many other DAO’s hold the potential to disrupt many spheres of influence.

For all the positivity of wgmi and $100,000 BTC, I believe one billion users by the end of the year in 2022 is possible. My role in that endeavor involves capturing beauty and sharing knowledge by use of crypto throughout. With frameworks and the masses’ ever loved legality coming, I am certain I will hear ‘it’s unregulated’ less and less. One key takeaway remains that adoption demands education. I simplify language, thus I see a perfect fit for my talents.

Decentralized finance meets traditional finance very soon, I reckon. Some seek exchanges, others want partnerships to get services. I dislike dropping names, but if you like the sound of Morgan Stanley, Citi, Goldman Sachs and Bank of America validating your portfolios, so be it.
In addition, GameFi presents the adoption frenzy I seek without relinquishing the keys to freedom to large corporations. Rather than make speculations about the coming of game studios, I turn to the rebrand of Facebook. Meta makes sense for those who may not find themselves convinced. Mark Zuckerberg arrives when there exists an opportunity. Think back to Instagram and Whatsapp. I have a high conviction in games coming from this space natively. I thank folks here for the exposure to Gods Unchained. I believe Solana holds good development activity when I see Aurory and Cope mentioned.

Bridges boast a significant chance of capturing value this year, as they expand on the connections established this year that raised their propositions. I believe in Harmony, Polygon, and Celer to name a few. They have their advantages and weaknesses, as well as use cases. I hedge against more opportunities now, as I plan. This is one tactic I pray I use often.

A DAO is not outside of my realm. I see them also presenting opportunities none ever dreamed of before. I am glad to be a Templar and may start one as well. The possibilities are many.
As I began four years ago, this entire journey on this platform served one purpose. To feed me cheeseburgers and allow me the space to create portraits, I work now into the new year towards the horizon, to place steps of change. I thank Maya Angelou for those uplifting words.
