Bumblebee : Bombus : Hummel

A few Summer Macros I picked out for today's gray foggy day.

Bumblebee : Bombus : Hummel

Canon EOS R | SIGMA 105mm 1:2,8 DG MACRO HSM

I photographed this Bumblebee with the Sigma 105mm macro in July at the reservoir. She was so busy collecting nectar that she did not notice me at all.

Today the high fog has been hanging all day long over the valley and we have not seen any sun.

My daughter needs photos for a school project in her fashion school for a catalog in which she should be seen dressed in several autumn jackets. And because the photos should look autumnal, I drove her to a nearby mountain, where I thought to see some sun. Unfortunately, there was quite dense fog and the fall colors had already pretty much gone.

Actually, I do not take pictures of people, but of course I make exceptions for John Lennon and for my daughter - @qwerrie can confirm that, can't you @qwerrie?

Luckily, some of the photos have become very nice and my daughter is satisfied.

I've posted some other photos of this bumblebee this summer, and I thought it could be a Common Carder Bee (Bombus pascuorum) or an Apple Bumblebee (Bombus pomorum). Unfortunately, I have not been able to find out yet.

The bumblebee is still a great capture, no matter what he is cataloged as. I have a hard time capturing insects, so I am in full appreciation of a wonderful sight like this in a photo.

I hope you find out what kind he is. Have a great day, my friend!

I have just heard it must be a Common Carder Bee - Bombus pascuorum 👍🙂

This Bumblebee was so busy and slow, that I could take some photos ... I used a quite fast shutterspeed and the Bumblebee was slow - best for photos 😉

I thank you so much for your kind words and wish you a wonderful weekend Denise 🙂

Thank you very much for the !tip

Bin ebenfalls Schlimmeres gewohnt... Viele Grüße vom Steinhuder Meer

Thank you so much @qwerrie, and you are right - no !DERANGED focus stacking, just getting down on my knees and close to the BumbleBee, which was nice enough to collect the nectar very slow, so that I could take some photos 😉

I do remember the other photos of this bumblebee, they were as good as the ones you posted today.
It looks like you had quite a photo session with that beautiful bumblebee.
Have a great weekend @johannpiber !BEER

I have looked at them before, because I needed the links to the Wikipedia sites - I was too lazy to search again ;) and at first I thought I had posted the same photos twice, but they are different. In July I didn't want to post too many photos at once and I thought I might need them on another day ;)
Thank you so very much for your always nice comments @cezary-io, I wish you also a wonderful weekend and hopefully good weather 🙂

The good weather has brought the cold to us ;)

There is no cold weather, but there are wrong clothes 😉

It will get warmer and I wish you a nice walk JJ 😊

I did get out for a walk, I promised my wife last Winter not to go for photo walks in the temp is under 45F which is about 7C because of my lung issues, I did accidentally ( on purpose) read the temp as 43F this evening when it actually was 34 so went out for a walk on the green :)

You could use a remote control and let the light change to green as soon as you open the door, or just when your wife says it's too cold outside ;) lol

I love bees and I love bumblebees - if you do not disturb or threaten them they won't sting you, apart from some exotic aggressive kinds. Bees are able to smell your fear ;)
So, no I am not nervous and I am not scared when I photograph bees 🙂

Of course, all insects play a big role in nature, but the most important are the insects that pollinate the plants, where the bees are number one I think. If the bees die, who will pollinate the flowers?
