Launch of STS-119

I ran out of space on my Google Cloud so I had to be creative and find a new way to back up my photos. Thankfully I have an old email account from my college days with unlimited storage. While getting the backup all set up I found a bunch of old photos I had uploaded to Panoramio back in the day. More stuff to post!

This is the launch of the STS-119 mission of the Space Shuttle Discovery on March 15th, 2009. I happened to be in fire training at the time and was directly across the peninsula from Cape Canaveral in Withlachoochee State Forest. It was an uneventful launch and mission, as were most. Oddly enough, this is the only shuttle launch I was able to witness, despite living in Florida for the last four years of launches.

I also discovered that the Metadata was saved for all these old pics. So here they are just to look “professional”.
