The psychology of the Media
Hey dear community, first of all I would like to welcome you all to my new post and hope you are all well and you had a day full of positive experiences! In this post, I would like to talk a little about a psychological topic and hope you are able to expand your knowledge.
Within psychology, there is a separate subfield that has focused on how people deal with media and what behavior is caused by the interaction with it and media is a system that enables the transmission of information and thus enables communication and it can be distinguished between different types such as audio, image or text media. There is numerous evidence of how media can influence behavior or health of the consumer and media depend on one's own perception and in order to be able to process the informations, people need the sensory organs which are then processed by the brain and can trigger follow-up reactions and which sensory organs are used is depending on the type of medium. The type and duration of use also has a huge influence and also the age of the consumer and especially with small children who already grow up in early years with certain programs you can see the strong influence on the development as well as the personality and through certain media events the subconscious is also strongly manipulated and even triggers can arise and if you see, for example, a creepy film where someone goes into the forest at night, this action of the film can influences the life and people are afraid of forests at night. It depends entirely on the medium and certain messages can have a negative effect on health and lead to a whole series of symptoms and if you feel fear, this can lead to the fact that you feel physically bad and there are different reactions and these moments are also stored in the subconscious and linked to certain things and this also changes the behavior in the long term.
Especially with young people who have not yet learned to deal with certain emotions or feelings, the wrong media consumption can often have a negative effect and vice versa, it can also sometimes have a positive effect on emotional behavior and this is individually influenced by different aspects and it can also happen that the feelings of people are blunted. From a psychological point of view, it is important to present certain idols in the media that should influence people's behavior and through these ideal images, the viewer often causes self-doubt and subliminally, the whole behavior is adapted because people want to be like the figure they are currently seeing. Often it also happens that people are heavily burdened by this because they want to look like the role model and as a result, people become very insecure and behave very differently and the more often they consume certain ideal images, the more the feeling of not meeting certain requirements can arise and it is a well-known phenomenon of the media to present people who should represent certain friend or enemy images in order to specifically direct people in one direction and of course the marketing of products is also promoted in this way. Media can not only have an effect on the individual but also on entire groups or the entire society and it must be mentioned that media psychology is much more complex and cannot be explained in an article.
Thanks a lot for the visit and I hope you could learn something new about psychology! I captured these pictures with my Camera Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm lens.
Such fresh flowers are very fragrant inside.
