What? and why? En translation

Have you ever wondered what to manage your daily activities? Why are you doing this or that action? Why are you doing this? These questions were able turn my worldview around, awakening my subconscious and faith from the “eternal sleep” caused by the huge number of addictions that surrounds us. I realized that I am a drug addict and most of my thoughts and actions are due to my addictions:

  • gambling addiction,
  • dependence on social networks,
  • gadget addiction.

I spend more than 5 hours on STEEM every day, often at the expense of sleep and health. From 08/17/2019 I will limit the time on STEEM to 2 hours a day. In the future I’m going to limit the time to all social networks (including STEEM up to 1 hour per day). Paradoxically, but we live at a time when these words can already be regarded as madness. I believe 100% that I can do it very easily. But this is just a secondary addiction of mine.

I believe 100% that I can do it very easily. But this is just a secondary addiction of mine.

My biggest addiction is the best blockchain game - @splinterlands. I'm head over heels in the dofamine trap of this game. I caught myself thinking that a practical whole year I put the priority of this game in first place, fade into the background the family, health and self-development. If as a result of the gradual restriction of STEEM in my life, I have no doubts, then with @splinterlands everything is much more complicated. @splinterlands is a game which I gave almost all my free time throughout the year. My game in @splinterlands is easily justified by the money (more than $ 8,000 of assets in the cards) that I made accumulate with it. That is why a smooth decrease in activity is impossible, because my mercantile desires can convince me. Today I declare to myself, first of all, that this season will be the last for me !!! At the end of the season, I will sell my cards. I will not rush to sell them, as I am sure that they will have even greater value in the future. If you want to become a wholesale buyer, write me a personal message, I will give you a discount.
Regarding the addiction to gadgets is still more serious. I can cope with this dependence only when I cope with the two previous dependencies.

At the end of the article, I would like to thank the creator team and all the players for this unforgettable period of my life and for all the emotions that you gave me. THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I'm sure @splinterlands is the best game I've played. If you play games, then @splinterlands is the best choice.

Appreciate life. Good luck and good.

  • 태그 작성 가이드라인 준수는 콘텐츠 관리와 글에 대한 접근성을 높이기 위해 반드시 필요한 절차입니다. ( It is an essential step to adhere tags guideline, manage content and make access better to your postings.)

  • 스팀코인판에서 활용 가능한 태그는 크게 [보상태그 / 언어태그/ 주제태그]로 구분할 수 있습니다. 보상태그와 언어태그는 필수입니다.(Tags that can be largely grouped into [Main Community / Language / Topic] in community. The language and topic tags are required.)

  • 태그 작성 가이드라인을 준수하는 것이 태그 사용을 규제하는 정책보다 스팀코인판의 가치를 높이는 길이라고 생각합니다.(We believe that adhering tags guideline is a way to increase the value of SteemCoinpan community than that of forcing tags limitations.)

I totally understand as I've had to cut back on playing the game myself. I would suggest renting out your cards for a while if there's any doubt in your mind that you want to give it up forever. My cards are only about half as valuable as yours, and I'm making about $103 a month renting them out right now.

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. But, I am confident in my decision, and renting can undermine my belief in the correctness of my act, which I really do not want.

Your rental advice also makes a lot of sense. Probably, I will look for a middle ground in partial sale and partial lease.

One thing to consider when you rent them out is that you cannot play them. Even if you end a lease, then your cards are on cooldown afterwards. So it prevents you from playing the game, but you still own the cards. That way, if they go up considerably in value in the future, you'll get those profits. It could feasibly take years to get the entire value of your cards in rental fees, though. Your idea to sell some and maybe rent some is probably a nice middle ground.

That is great @cranium, everything that you make effort to achieve it is sometimes successful, even though steem down, yet we can do something if we put much effort.

Family and health is the priority, great decision. Commend you on grabbing this by the horns and making a change, change is hard.

I think most people on here totally get where you're coming from. These technologies can for sure be addicting, even more so if they give their user a monetary gain like yours (this is incredible yearly "income" for some parts of the world).

But as many here say, I guess being in a healthy mix of relationships/social acitivities, work AND leisure time spent on devices etc is the way to go.

I think you can do it and wish you the best of luck with your endeavours. See you around, just not so often ;)

Before selling your cards, consider setting up a heron account. I'm not sure how it works exactly though, I recommend you to ask about that in the Splinterlands discord.
