RTX Power - Nvidia Leaks and Excitement

With the upcoming Navi from AMD and holiday release of next gen consoles, many have been anticipating Nvidia’s response. With fierce competition this round, it might lead to a battle of power and value between the tech firms. The GeForce RTX 3080 Ti is sure to be a prime candidate for all PC enthusiasts and many are waiting to see just how powerful the card will be. There has been talk of Nvidia possibly releasing a budget GPU but it is not likely to see market release this year. The next generation of RTX cards that appeal to high end gamers and enthusiasts alike will be centre stage as a head to head against the red team, AMD.

With new releases, older cards are expected to see a price reduction and this is currently happening across various GPU lines including the RTX series as expected. Over recent years, I’ve been impressed with RTX cards but with AMD making noise again for high end performance and possibly most bang for buck, Navi might hold a sweet spot that even the most performance driven users will be attracted to. Reduction of older cards might trigger some to opt for a card they have been waiting to drop in price but with releases round the corner, spending a little extra for a new generation of GPU technology might be the way forward. This is certainly my stance as new architecture across all components are releasing as 2020 progresses.

Hype continues to build and the leaked screenshot of the Asus ROG STRIX edition of the 3080 Ti have surfaced. It’s certainly mean looking with an aligned triple fan design with added metallic on its body, making it a beastly card that intend to deliver performance not seen yet before. Further leaks indicate something special is up ahead with the RTX 3000 range that are to make use of the Samsung 8nm process, a move that should scale across all upcoming cards. Hype continues to build and it’s certainly an exciting period for computing. Suggestive screens of benchmarks could see around a 30% increase in performance versus previous generation RTX 2080 Founders Edition cards. It will be interesting to see how the wider market views the offerings between Nvidia and AMD. Regardless of diehard fan bases, people are looking for performance for a reasonable cost. Samsung’s involvement may mean that both performance and cost meet criteria but I will keeping my eyes peeled for benchmarks and surprises in the coming months.
