New Discovery: Modern Humans Reached Europe Thousands of Years Before Previously Known
As many of you know, many modern humans have a small portion of neanderthal DNA incorporated into our genetic code. Although its a mystery about how exactly it got there, new research provides us with another clue! New evidence found in a cave in Portugal shows that human beings populated Europe thousands of years before previously known, meaning that they shared this space with neanderthals for a period of time. Soon after, neanderthals disappeared. Did they get assimilated by human tribes? Wiped out in warfare? Those questions are still yet to be answered, but today we are a little closer to figuring it out..
