Since Uber had a fatal accident in 2018, both builders and legislators once again asked the inevitable: are autonomous cars ready to be tested on real streets?

Autonomous vehicles "see" through a variety of high-tech cameras and sensors connected to the vehicle but, even the best cameras, lose effectiveness in low visibility conditions

To remedy this, the TriEye startup developed a SWIR (shortwave infrared) camera mounted on the dashboard. which allows you to drive safely under snow, fog, dust and rain.

SWIR cameras have been used in military vehicles for several decades, but they were always too expensive to be used in common cars.

The company began with a focus on the automotive industry but its technology could work in other areas, including industrial inspection, safety and optics.
