Gears 5 Campaign BUG

Gears 5 is out now for anyone that ordered the game via Xbox Games Pass Ultimate or got themselves the Ultimate edition of the title. 

Thing is, early adopters sometimes get the raw end of the deal when it comes to games launches and sadly it looks like Gears 5 is no different. 0

he campaign checkpoint bug is mostly reported in the earlier stages of the game, with players noting that the game will try and save content perpetually, freezing them out of progressing in the campaign.It seems like the issue triggers somewhat randomly and can be quite frustrating since restarting the game can push players back to a previous checkpoint which, in many cases, causes them lose out on up to 45 minutes' worth of progress.

Be mindful when you're playing the game and when you notice the title is saving, wait around in an area and allow the checkpoint to 'lock-in', so to speak.  It's theorised that the issue is triggered by players pushing on in the campaign before the open world has had a chance to properly load, leading to some of the issues reported in the title.

Gears 5 developer The Coalition has yet to update the game to patch this feature, but you can be sure that ahead of the title's full launch on September 10, the developer is going to want to make things as smooth as possible.
