NBA Takes A Stand Against Freedom

We are currently living in an age of woke capitalism with loads of socialism mixed in, and companies are not just selling you products, they're also selling you ideology. It comes nicely wrapped in virtuous messaging about how much they care when it comes to social issues and causes around the world, well that is as long as that messaging doesn't hurt their profit margins. Kind of like when someone associated with a company offends China, by saying "Fight for Freedom. Stand with Hong Kong." then those the virtuous go right out the window. The super typhoon which has taken aim for mainland Japan is expected to make landfall this weekend, with maximum sustained winds of up to 168 mph and stronger. Backlash Against Ellen DeGeneres For Liking Bush

We live in an age of the internet, and if there is one thing the internet can't ever do, and that is forget. So no matter what you have done it will eventually come back to haunt you, especially when we live in a world of outrage culture. Gone are the days where people are fighting for worthwhile issues like equal rights or freedoms, these days it's just about being unset that someone did something or said something, and if there is nothing current, well then they will find something from long ago to moan about. Which brings us the Ellen DeGeneres, who is in the news due to a photo surfacing where she is laughing with former President George W. Bush. (Click image below to read more...)

Blizzard, Hearthstone and the Hong Kong Protests

More news revolving around Communist China censorship and this time, the game company Blizzard, who created World of Warcraft and Hearthstone. The company has faced a growing backlash since it removed pro player Chung "Blitzchung" Ng Wai from a Hearthstone tournament and future events, and well as not paying his prize money after he showed support for the Hong Kong protests in a post-game interview. In response to the ban, gamers began boycotting the developer and on Wednesday #BoycottBlizzard started trending on Twitter, and the company's action has even been called out by two US senators. U.S. Bank Is Hiring Blockchain Positions

The second-largest U.S. bank, Bank of America has started posting jobs for people in the blockchain industry, and this could mean more companies will begin following suit. A recently closed ad on LinkedIn also suggests the bank has plans to use Ripple’s distributed ledger-based payments network in some form. The bank also has about 78 blockchain-related patents that it has filed over or won to date. Could we start seeing a bigger adoption of crypto by the masses in the near future, let hope so. I feel like all news are repeating themselves as if the history plays again and again. Sure, there are some differences in them, they bring some new technology but it is like they all play the same chords from the guitar.
Maybe I am wrong, but the feeling is that the world just keep repeating itself with new actors on and on.

Typhoon Hagibis is terrible, as it is believed that it can be very devastating, as much or worse than typhoon Ida, which in 1958 left thousands dead. So worrying is the situation in Turkey and Syria, and in Ecuador. In the 21st century there are many useless and sterile wars. This week was also news the delivery of the 2019 Nobel Prizes. The Peace Prize was won by the Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and the Literature Prize winners Olga Tokarczuk and Peter Handke. A very busy week is coming to an end. Greetings

Thank you for the news digest.
The destructive action that Typhoon Hagibis could have in Japan is truly worrying. On the other hand, it seems good news the steps being taken by the Bank of America in favor of crypto currencies, which could be very beneficial in the medium term.
In Latin America, the political crises in Peru and Ecuador are news. In the first case, when the power of Parliament is suspended; and in the second, the movements induced (as it is said by the interests of governments and figures associated with the so-called Sao Paulo Forum, that is, communist leftists) against the democratic government of Lenín Moreno in Ecuador.
In Venezuela, my country, the decision taken by Adobe to suspend its services because of the sanctions taken by the U.S. government is worrisome; this would cause an enormous damage to the electronic exercise of individual information.
