Yes, Elon Musk is at it again. Of course his brain implant company, Neuralink, has been out there for awhile so that's not the big news.
The big news is that he says by the end of this year they'll have human brains connected to computers with his implant chip.

Neuralink recently announced that they've successfully conducted tests using a rat and a monkey who were able to control a computer! No photos of that though, they're pretty secretive about their operations.
Of course, researchers have controlled computers with a person wearing a skull cap before like this one:
But not with an implant connected to brain neurons. To do that, Neuralink has created threads which are ten times thinner than a strand of hair.
Each thread carries 32 electrodes and the operation takes such precision that they had to build a robot to perform it. It can place 32 threads inside the brain so that's 3,072 electrodes.
Here's a photo of the surgical robot they built:

This is some sci-fi stuff ain't it?
The first goal is a very altruistic sounding one: to help paraplegics to gain control of body movement and to help restore degenerated brain function in Alzheimer's and dementia patients, and hopefully help with Parkinson's and ALS.
Also the technology could be used to help repair brain injuries. The medical uses are endless and exciting.
The chip itself is already small:

Beyond that though, Neuralinks wants to be able to use the implants so people can connect to the internet. Can you imagine having the knowledge of the internet in your head?
Here's what the current model looks like, about the size of a hearing aid:

Will you have to get virus protection so your brain doesn't get hacked? Will brain-hacking become a favorite tool of criminals?
Will people be able to instantly communicate without having to type out their thoughts? Will big companies insist on all their employees being implanted so they'll be super smart?
And if you DON'T get implanted you'll be a hopeless dunce? lol.
Is this a sign of the End Times?
Most Bible scholars believe we're living in the End Times so a good question would be: Will God allow the joining of computers and humans and to what extent? Total bionic beings? Will He allow clones?
Here's Elon Musk in case you don't know him. To some he's a genius, to some he's a brilliant futurist and visionary. To some he's a scam artist and con man.
One thing is clear...he isn't limited by what is possible today! All his ventures develop new technology for the future.
By the way, Neuralinks is now hiring engineers in case you are one!
My oh my, the times they are a'changin! They're already talking about combining AI and Quantum Computing into this new implant technology!
Thanks for stopping by folks, God bless you all!
