The same medium that reported this has indicated the error

A few days ago I found out about a curious patent from Sony by which the company registered the use of some curious cartridges. As is well known, PS5 will opt for the use of Blu-ray discs with an increased capacity to those seen on PS4, so it was virtually ruled out that such hardware could be dedicated to the next generation console - hence we came to bet for a new laptop. However, the media that found the patent on the cartridges has made a 3D rendering of them to reach a conclusion: they could serve in the new console.

But now finally, it seems that this option has been denied by the same means that, in the first instance, presented the possible case.

So, this is what LetsGoDigital has stated in a new publication:

Earlier this month, LetsGoDigital was able to find a Sony PlayStation cartridge for an unknown console. Soon, speculation began to take shape, after which we had 3D renderings that seemed to be for PlayStation 5

But investigating the issue I have found that this cartridge is not for PlayStation 5. It is also not a memory cartridge, but is a game cartridge designed for the Sony TOIO system

But anyway, we must wait for future occasions in order to know official information about PlayStation 5, although it is impossible to ignore the great 'leak' of yesterday. As in the case of the cartridges of the console, it is also possible that this information is wrong, but in case you are curious, I leave the link on the sony toio page
