Introduction

Today I thought I'd talk about some of the gear I use and tell you about my Fender James Burton Tele, Red Paisley Flame.

Specification

Basswood body, Maple Neck, 3 x James Burton Blade Pickups
Strat-o-Tele switching with 5 way switch

Review

I love this guitar. I was looking for something that would give me versatility in the studio but also in a live set up. The 5 way switch and the S-1 switching (allows you to humbuck 2 pickups) means I can get a Strat, Tele or Gibbo sound. 4.5 out of 5 though I would give it 5 out of 5 if it had a rosewood or ebony fretboard which I prefer.

Value for money

Retails at just under £2k, I would be happy to pay £1.5/1.6k. I shopped around and found a guy online selling one in the case unused, ungigged and I managed to get it for £1200 which was a bargain!

It's only Rock and roll

Ooh, a flaming Tele is cool. We do have a #TeleTuesday tag where you could feature it some time. There is a Guitar community where such posts might go down well. You can cross-post to get a post in several places.

Rock on!
