Hollywood has been waiting 20 years to do movies like this. Finally it’s here. I’m not ruining the movie or giving any spoilers to tell you about the younger digital version of Will Smith because it’s in the trailer and movie poster.

You can read more about the technical parts of the movie from Wired here:

I very rarely will watch a film twice because I find most of them boring and predictable. To be honest, I either fall asleep or jump to the ending of over 90% of the crap Hollywood spits out these days, but not Gemini Man. Will Smith shot this when he was 49 and not only does he still look great, he still has what it takes to make a great action flick.

This movie is nearly perfect. The action scenes are exiting and believable. The acting is top notch. My only complaint about the film is the one hour and fourty seven minutes run time. It was such a good movie that I wished it had been longer. Maybe you didn’t like it as much as I did. I would love to read why in your comments.

Is this Possible?

In the movie Henry played by Will Smith had his DNA taking by the DIA or Defense Intelligence Agency and cloned because he was the perfect warrior. Whenever anybody enlists in the military they have their DNA taken by the military. So the idea behind this movie is possible. If someone became a legendary Navy Seal or other Special Operations operator the government could take their DNA from the blood they drew when that person first enlisted, usually at age 18. This would make for the freshest source to make the clone. Maybe you’re thinking that would be morally wrong. The United States government wouldn’t do something like that. Maybe that’s true, but the Russians or the Chinese wouldn’t hesitate to do this.

Why Clone a Soldier?

Cloning the pefect warrior isn’t a bad idea, but if I were behind some project like this I would clone Nikola Tesla, Elon Musk, or whatever genius DNA that was available to me. Can you imagine what the world would be like with thousands of geniuses of their caliber working on the world’s problems? We could have unbelievable new technology and inventions. We could have a Star Trek like world in under 100 years.

Conclusion

I would give this film 5 stars or two thumbs up. It is a very interesting story and perfectly directed. I believe that this will really happen or has already happened and when we find out about it, we will call it the real life Gemini Man.
