In this video I go over in extreme detail the calculations used in our Mortgage Calculator and manually calculate each output to ensure that all calculations are correct and no errors are made. The calculations that I cover are the mortgage repayment summary in terms of monthly payments with and without property tax and private mortgage insurance as well as comparisons with bi-weekly and final balloon payment strategies to show the amount of interest saved or paid extra. • A = periodic payment amount
• P = Amount of principle or loan owing (subtracting any down-payments)
• i = period interest rate
• n = total number of payments
• B = Final Balloon Payment
  • If B = 0, then the amortization formula is the same as the basic one.
