Thoughts on the Wow! signal

(Edited)

Anyone who has watched UFO or paranormal documentaries about life outside of Earth has probably heard of the infamous Wow! signal. According to Wikipedia, this signal, detected on August 15, 1977 by Ohio State University's Big Ear radio telescope, is "...the strongest candidate for an alien radio transmission ever detected." Even though it is merely bits information, analog data streams of radio frequencies, not yet proven to be of artificial origin, this signal captures the world's imagination.

And yet, how is it that in 1880 no less than three prominent doctoral figures of German science announced publicly and clearly to the world that the most common type of stone meteorite is actually petrified material, similar to some of Earth's fossiliferous rocks?

Because these works and events are basically unknown, I am highly suspicious! How could such claims not be known to all? Regardless of whether true or false, the debate and investigation is important, not just to current science, but also for understanding the evolution of it. Especially after more than four years of photographing these stones and since some scientists in the 20th century also had similar conclusions, although not well-known.
