How long is a coastline?

Well, it depends. It could be infinity.

Since I was a kid, other than numbers always in my head, I have been fascinated by graphs and the shapes of everything. Therefore, naturally, I was doing well in math, especially in geometry. However, the only geometry I was learning at school was Euclidean geometry.

Today I ran across fractal geometry. It is fascinating. It is about the same pattern repeats itself when you zoom in and out. It is closer to the shapes we find in nature and even in the stock or commodity market.

Does anyone know if a coastline's length in fractal geometry diverges into infinity?
