There are now over 90 million users who have started using Sweatcoin, which is a popular app that enables you to earn while you stay active. You can later trade those points that you earn for different goods in the store, and through this market they've facilitated millions already in those transactions.

$165 million has been exchanged in less than 1 year

In just 8 months they were able to see around $165 million exchanged. This is tens of millions each month that is being exchanged for goods and services thanks to this app and its users.

It looks like the app has seen quick success and is expected to continue drawing in many more users, especially with the new web3 project expected to be launching in summer.

In anticipation of that new launch there are also millions of non-custodial wallets being set up too. It's one of the top apps in the app store as more people today learn that there are opportunities to try pay for walking apps like this one, which reward you to move.

The project is going to help introduce people to crypto by walking and it's clear that this is a popular method of introduction for millions.

That's the kind of thing that happens when you have big VC funding. You can get allot of people to come to your platform through marketing, lol. I'll stick to my @actifit app, heck I don't use that enough either, lol.

It really is. And the fact they they have been trying to build their own defi platform for it too is cool. Just hope they can get some good solid support cause it’s hard out there for good use cases, lol.

I got sweatcoin two weeks ago when you first posted about it.

I've earned 77 sweatcoins in that time just walking and biking around. I do the daily 2x boost and I've been averaging about 3,000 steps in 20 minutes.

I'm concerned about what information we're giving away for this "free" product.

They have my Google Activity data now which includes all the body sensor stuff and more.

DO you have sweatcoin installed and how do you feel about the privacy issues?

Does "DoItVoluntarily" mean you're a Jannie? I've been curious about your name for 3 months.

Thanks.

had been using it and wasn't worried about it
not sure what you mean about jannie?
the name reflects my preference for voluntary human exchanges over those which violate consent and are forced or coerced

A jannie is a mostly worthless facsimile of a breathing, consuming, defecating pond muck protozoam. They always and only work for free.

It's good to know that's not you.

Yes, things in this world should be things we consent to. Might makes right though, and the Jannies and their employers, the Glowies and Biznizz glowies, needed to trick the Western people of this world that consent is a thing.

Pretty sure we don't consent to all the things they do but we can pretend consent between each other is a tacit baseline providing a modicum of civility betwixt strangers.

Thank you for sharing.
I keep on seeing this here on Hive but didn't really caught my attention until now. I definitely need something like this to motivate me to move and sweat. I just hope the initial investment would not make me SWEAT. 🙂
