Who is Jeff MacKinnon?

Wow, what a big question. I don't really know for sure myself.

I am an electrical engineer and run @jmkengineering where I focus a lot on projects that are mostly in small hydro projects and electrical safety.

Why here? Why now?

That's a very good question. I started the @jmkengineering account here to syndicate my posts at the main JMK Engineering Inc blog. I have big plans to be posting a lot more content there in the New Year. I looked around and couldn't find a lot of renewable energy or engineering posts to curate, so I delegated my SP to my friend @noloafing.

And now we get to why I'm here my internet friend @noloafing. We were talking about a few things, the internet, cryptocurrency, social media, and life in general. They encouraged me to stop sitting on my ant hill of $BTC and get it working.

What else about me

I started by saying that its a big question, and I still don't know how to get that out of here. I have a Now Page that I occasionally update and might even start blogging there in 2020. If I do, I will be sure to cross post here with #steempress.

I live in Nova Scotia these days and have spent most of 2019 working like crazy. I'm hoping to slow down in 2020 and spend more time creating content like photography, home energy stuff, cryptocurrency, etc.

I'm looking forward to interacting with all the great steemians and avoid all the minnow bashers.

Eight suggestions to consider:

Guard your passwords carefully, and only publish with the posting key,
Use your active key only for wallet transactions, keychain and steemconnect,
The master password is only used to reset compromised passwords,
DO NOT lose your passwords; copy and store offline,
Do not publish other people's work, be it photos or written, without credit,
be sure to source all of your work, even if it is your own.
An introduceyourself tag is used only once, and
When you open your steemit.com, in the upper right corner of the page there are 3 bars. Click on those, and then on the "welcome", and you will get a lot of reading material that will help you.

I don't trust discord at all and don't use it. I try to avoid all online companies that are owned by companies with close ties to the Chinese Government, especially social platforms.

The two that I avoid completely, that are very popular today are, TikTok and Discord. I'm excited for the day that Hives go mainstream, and if there was an encrypted version of hives where the communication is tied only to that community and not clear text on the blockchain.
