I don't think the satellites don't see them. The data is collected, but I reckon not provided by the satellite owner/operator in cases where such tracking isn't available to we plebs.
Given my rudimentary grasp of how physics works, I don't think an airliner could avoid being seen by satellites ever. There are a lot of satellites, and airliners are fairly large and obvious things.
