Big Brother’s “Big Data” Dream Chip
[Текст на српском] Someone said that in business “data is new oil”. Data harvesting is truly an enormous business that allows relatively low investments with exorbitant profits on the gullible users who think they have a privilege to use certain services “for free”. It’s never free. And now AMD is coming to this field with their latest technology…
The proportions of global surveillance and a sheer quantity of collected data on the World inhabitants, poses a serious challenge for those who are “in business”. As Edward Snowden and Julian Assange has shown, collecting data itself demands gargantuan storage space, but that is not a real problem. Much more serious problem is data processing. You have to have a hardware that can quickly search, process, deliver — in short, make data collecting useful — for whatever purposes. AMD wouldn’t let all those IT megacorporations and intelligence services waiting too long for a new Intel offering — they have prepared to fill the void.
On Wednesday, AMD revealed their latest “data-center” chip named EPYC 2, and immediately, all the usual suspect in the business of your data harvesting, were standing in line to switch!

Google was first. Just a day after they announced they will be chip's top customer for both its own data center use and Google Cloud business. Microsoft, Amazon, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Dell, and Twitter all announced they will also switch to the EPYC 2 chip or increase their current order count.
Hans Mosesmann, an analyst at Rosenblatt Securities, said that EPYC 2 “may prove to be one of the biggest turning points in the history of Silicon Valley”, and also stated AMD's intentions “to own the data center. All of it”.
The analyst noted the competing product from Intel doesn't measure up to the AMD version's performance, saying the offering will “destroy” Intel's chip.
The EPYC Horizon event — where the chip was announced — served as the “culmination of five years of determined focus, effort, and huge bets“
As you can see, USA obviously decided which technology has a priority in research&development. But what about Chinese technology? Will they not collect your data? Of course they will. It’s the nature of monstrous centralized political hierarchy. But let’s put the things in prospect: It is still better to be under the surveillance of the power that doesn’t have jurisdiction over you.
And if you don’t want your data collected and misused, go blockchain! Decentralize and encrypt your data. Follow the advices of Dr. Richard Stallman:

I think I met Richard Stallman once. I like what he says. I agree in decentralization. Make privacy great again, the 4th amendment. Increase options, choices, for people.
Not related to this content, I like the way you seem to have mastered link indexing. You've put a lot of work into in your "work".
Thank you.
What page did you like, @anaclark? Did I do something others don’t do?

I'm very interested to share this bottom link and to watch it at somepoint! I'm lucky not to live within 50m of a smartmeter, but that won't matter much when 5G is everywhere. Dark days init!
