If you have ever been on an aircraft, you may have seen it takes some time for the plane to start running at the runway, after all the passengers have boarded. The Airport follows a set of procedures, to check for Takeoff, and check that the plane can do so without any danger. Here we will discuss what is that Procedure.

What all is done for safety before Takeoff?

First of all, the Runway is checked for any Debris, or Objects lying on the runway. It is done to make sure that while the Plane is picking up speed, nothing collides with the Tyres, and does damage to the Landing Gears.

If the Plane is taking off at night, several high-power lights are turned on on both sides of the runway. Most often those lights are already on for other planes.

Safety checks are done, Flaps, Tyres, engines, and Wings are checked, for the last time. Also, the Passengers are checked if all of them have boarded.

The Pilot checks some of the important things in the Cockpit, Makes announcements, the Passengers are informed to fasten their seatbelts.

How does the Plane take off?

The plane, completed with all checks, and approved by the Airport control, proceeds to the Runway. It speeds up fast, making the plane stable on the midline of the runway. After a certain speed and distance on the runway, the Pilot pulls up the flaps, which make the Air lift the Plane. The nose elevates 8-10 degrees and the plane becomes airborne. After a safe altitude is reached, the landing gears are taken in and flaps are set to Normal.
