The Mechanism in their Wings

Birds fly by flapping their wings. Their bodies are ideal for flight because they are light and shaped to cut through the air at high speeds. Birds like the kingfisher can hover in the air by beating their wings very quickly, while other birds glide on the wind by spreading their wings wide. Hummingbirds have unique abilities that allow them even to fly backward and upside down. The construction of its feathers is different from most birds.

They have a unique ball joint on the shoulder that allows them to rotate their wings in all directions. The bald eagle is one of the highest-flying birds. They can reach heights of about 14,000 feet. Their wide wingspan can fly higher and faster than most birds. These large birds use rising air to gain altitude.

Birds are warm-blooded and lay eggs to give birth to young. The ostrich is the most giant living bird that can grow up to 9 feet tall. Although ostriches have wings, they cannot fly due to their high body weight. Other examples of birds that cannot fly are penguins, kiwis, emus, etc.
