1. Project positions under National Supercomputing Mission at the Centre for Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences (CAOS), Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru

The following project positions are available for the project” “Sub-mesoscale resolving North Indian Ocean Simulation” supported by the National Supercomputing Mission.

Project Associate. B. Tech/M. Tech. in Computer Science, Mechanical or Aerospace Engg. With a strong interest in High-Performance Computing.

Project Associate. M.Sc. /M. Tech. in Oceanography, Atmospheric Science with a strong interest in developing ocean models and their applications.

Senior Project Associate. Ph. D. in the areas of Ocean Modelling/Atmospheric Modelling/ Fluid Dynamics/ CFD etc. Candidates with four years of research experience in similar areas also may apply.

Project Assistant. B. Sc/ 3-Year Diploma. in Computer Science. The job profile is to support the implementation of this and other projects. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, web page development, and management are required. Running and managing software-packages for data analysis would also be a part of the job profile.

The major task of this project is to configure and apply a high-resolution model of the Indian Ocean. The project staff would have the opportunity to work on one of the supercomputers set-ups as a part of the National Supercomputing Mission.

The positions are currently available for a period of two years and likely to be extended. All positions are temporary. The emolument will depend on the qualification, experience as per IISc/DST rules governed by the DST office memorandum number: SR/SZ/Z-05/2019 dated 10 July 2020.

2. Junior Research Fellow Position in the Frontiers in Imaging, Spectroscopy and Theranostics Laboratory at the INAP Dept, IISc

There is an immediate opening for Junior Research Fellow in the Frontiers in Imaging, Spectroscopy and Theranostics Laboratory at the INAP Dept, IISc. The specific area of research includes developing novel deep learning-based methods for optoacoustic imaging.

Experience in developing experimental methods will be preferred. Prior experience in imaging, image processing, DL/ML would be useful. The selected candidate will be expected to work on developing optoacoustic imaging systems as well.

Desired Skills:
Programming skills in Matlab/Python
Knowledge in hardware interfacing tools in Matlab, LabView
Knowledge in optics, image processing, deep learning.

Minimum Qualifications: BE/B.Tech/BS/ME/M.Tech in Computer Science/Electrical/Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. MSc in Physics/Optics. Preferably GATE qualified.
