Wood cutting today

Ran through 3 tanks of gas, changed my chain once, and the new bar is cutting like butter. Well, now it is cutting like frozen butter since the log diameter has increased. My saw, Stihl MS362, only has a 20" bar and the trees are about 18 to 24 inches for at least 20 feet on each.

I started at the broken tip and worked uphill. It is nice since the shade of the surrounding live trees helped keep me a bit cooler.

Most of the smaller Fir got chopped down to size. It had died near our shed so I dropped it a week ago. Not much but still burnable wood.

I have about 25 to 30 feet left of the Fir, but it is the thickest part. I expect it will take another 5 or 6 tanks of gas and couple more chain changes to get through it.

After I cool off a bit I am going to go try splitting some of the fresh cut logs and see how easy they turn to pieces.

Got to get the wood in for winter while I am motivated to. Though fall cutting is really nice with the crisp and moist air.
