I'm not sure if this is the right answer. I use the Hive-Engine. Is that what you mean?

Alright, no worries

Hive Engine is a decentralised exchange that can be accessed here: https://hive-engine.com/

You can trade second-layer coins on the Hive blockchain there, but you can't read or write posts, upvote, reply etc

An example of a second-layer coin is !PIZZA

All things going well, the PIZZA bot will see that call and give you some PIZZA of your own

Maybe you're using hive.blog?

On Android smartphone, it looks like this:

Hive.blog

That's my profile page on Hive.blog ^

You can see your profile page from most front-ends by putting your Hive user name after the '@' in the URL, like this:

https://hive.blog/@focus.folks

Change to:

https://hive.blog/@lv99-rd-chocobo

Your profile page on hive.blog ^

There's also PeakD and Ecency

They're the most popular front-ends for interacting with the Hive blockchain as a social media & blogging platform, but there are many others. You can log in to any of them with your Hive user name and private keys

It can be very confusing at times, but I'm happy to help out

See if you can tell me which front end you're using and I can guide you through how to power up your HIVE 😃

I'm a bit of a Final Fantasy fan myself, but I played VII first, then VIII later. Haven't played XII 😊

That's more or less how it works. Essentially when you post or comment from PeakD, Ecency, Hive.blog or any other front-end you're not posting to those websites per se, you're using them to post to a blockchain. You can look at a post from any or all of them because they all derive the information from that one place: the Hive blockchain.

They're user interfaces, shells or skins, so to speak. That's why I keep calling them front-ends. The back end is the blockchain

That's the general gist of how it works

The error you received was probably because you run out of Resource Credits. RCs are an abuse-prevention measure to protect the chain from being spammed into oblivion by bots

Each time you post, comment, upvote, follow someone or do anything else here (transact with the blockchain) it uses a small amount of your Resource Credits. You start with 100% when you create your account

It's like your HP in an RPG. Or maybe MP is more apt. Each time you cast one of these "spells," your MP is depleted. Different spells use different amounts

Resource Credits recharge at a rate of about 20% per day on their own

Have a look here to see yours: https://hiveblocks.com/@lv99-rd-chocobo

(Hiveblocks is another tool built to extract and display information from the Hive Blockchain on a webpage)

I'll delegate some HP to you to get you back up and going again. Hang on a moment...

Oh wow thank you for explaining! I had no idea and was so confused. And a very easy to follow explanation as well. I guess I gotta make sure what I have to say is important when I'm on here. lol Thank you!

Okay, there you go!

Before and after I delegated HP to you:

@lv99-rd-chocobo, Resource Credits, Hiveblocks.com

What I just did was delegate some of my powered-up HIVE to you. Now you get to benefit from the resulting upgrade to your total RCs. It will also increase the value of your upvote a little bit

The same thing happens when you power up your own HIVE

This brings us back to your original question: how to do just that

I mostly use the Ecency app on my smartphone for Hive these days, but I'll show you how to power up with PeakD, since you said that's what you know

Just a moment

Okay, just having a look through the process now. It's going to take a few separate steps for you. You don't have any HIVE to power up at the moment, but that will change as you claim rewards from your posts

You set up your account through Splinterlands, yes?

If you're using PeakD, you must have already got your private keys from them.

You'll need to add your active key to your Hivesigner or Keychain account to power up HIVE through PeakD

I can transfer you a couple of HIVE so you can try it for yourself once that's done

Let me know how you go 😀

Also,

Mystic Quest!

That was one of the first games I ever played. So good

Love the soundtrack to this day

The nostalgia! 😁

Oops lol. I think I gave it back to you by voting for your explanation comment. It was just so good and easy to understand I had to upvote it. or I'm wrong and I have no idea what I'm doing which is also a possibility. But I think I found how to do it, if I ever get some more hive. :) Thank you so much for your patience and explanations.

Heh heh heh, no you didn't give it back. Only the delegating account can undelegate. What you 'give' when you vote is a part of the Rewards Pool, proportional to the value of your vote, which depends on how much HIVE you have powered up

You can see the total of the rewards pool on Hiveblocks.com

If you ever have any other questions, feel free to ask. You might already know about this, but you can tag accounts in posts and comments using '@'

As in: @lv99-rd-chocobo

If you do that for my account, I'll get a notification. Then I can get back to you and help out

Don't be a stranger! 😉

Happy Hiving!

Sorry for the late replies. I kept getting an error whenever I tried to respond. I never got to play those final fantasies. I wanted to try out the 7 remake but with all the delays I kinda forgot about it. I've only played mystic quest for the snes, 12 and 15 I think it was. the one with the cooking that became a meme lol

Depends on which front-end you use.
Go to your wallet and select "Power Up" next to "HIVE"
