Happy New Year - Feedback from the first Hive Power Up Day of 2022

Once again, we were surprised by the enthusiasm and the participation rate in this first edition of the year 2022 of the Hive Power Up Day.

While we thought that everyone would be busy partying with their friends and relatives to celebrate the change of year, it was with astonishment and pleasure to see the level of participation in this first Power Up Day of the year.

Power Up Day has become an important moment in the life of our community and it is now setting the pace each month. It is also a special edition since it also marks the start of a new Power Up Month and offers the possibility of having an additional Power Up Helper badge.

A few words from the PUD organizers

Goodbye to 2021 and hello to what I think will be an amazing 2022, especially on Hive!

While I don't have the numbers yet, judging by my notifications both on here and on Twitter, I think plenty of people took time out of their holiday celebrations to power up and post on the blockchain. I also spotted some new names joining in, which is wicked awesome - especially since the original idea behind Power Up Day was to encourage newbies to grow their accounts. And with the HiveBuzz triple shot of PUD - PUH - PUM this month, it seems the message is getting out there!

As I say every month, a big THANK YOU to everyone who participated in this Power Up Day by powering up, posting, and/or shouting out on all traditional web 2.0 social media. All of those things help shine a light on our blockchain home, which in turn helps to grow our community. Special thanks to @hivebuzz for always BEEing such an incredible buzz-maker for Hive Power Up Day. And here's to the happy Hiveans who started off the year by increasing their voting power and influence on the blockchain - Happy New Years Power Up Day 2022 to you all!

What are the PUD stats of this month?

As usual, let's start first with those who choose to help others grow, the Power Up Helpers, as those are the ones who deserve the most attention.

We have 15 users who have made a power-up to another account and have thus allowed 17 people to get their PUD badge.

Special kudos to @ahmadmanga who helped 3 accounts grow!

Together, the helpers gifted 340.111 HIVE!

Here is the complete list of helpers and their donation:
@podping (100), @bandogge (55), @batshaw (39), @ahmadmanga (30), @herbacianymag (15), @traciyork (11.11), @ahmadmangazap (10), @brittandjosie (10), @buffalobison (10), @dawnoner (10), @germangenius (10), @iamraincrystal (10), @mightpossibly (10), @opinizeunltd (10) and @tdctunes (10).

A huge thank you to them all for their generosity! Show them some love by upvoting one of their recent posts.

In previous years, we had 166 users who helped at least one less powerful user who never got any power-up from anyone.

As you know, the Power Up Helper badge is now a yearly thing, so we have reset our counter on January 2022. Here is the list of benefactors who got the so brand new coveted Power Up Helper badge for 2022:

Congratulations to @ahmadmanga (3), @podping (1),@bandogge (1) ,@batshaw (1), @herbacianymag (1), @traciyork (1), @ahmadmangazap (1), @brittandjosie (1), @buffalobison (1), @dawnoner (1), @germangenius (1), @iamraincrystal (1), @mightpossibly (1), @opinizeunltd (1) and @tdctunes (1).

Remember that the number of people you are helping will significantly influence the delegation we will do to you.

Let's now take a look at how you did against the previous editions:

As mentioned at the beginning of this post, we have had 383 participants. It's not the best, but not the worst either and it's better than in the previous edition.

Regarding the volume of HIVE that have been powered-up, it is inversely proportional to the ATH price of HIVE: 843067 HIVE powered-up. This is a big jump from the previous edition thanks to the huge power-up made by @newsflash.

Let's now look at what happened with the distribution of power-ups:

Congrats to @newsflash (703033,511), @elmerlin (51164,98), @verbalshadow (38000), @reseller (9000), @alex-rourke (5038), @tarazkp (3892), @ecency (2500), @rentmoney (1600), @ace108 (1234), @mcoinz79 (1034,13), @vanje (1002), @fivecardmonte (1000), @namelessnameless (1000), @achim03 (1000) and @ph1102 (1000).

They powered up at least 1000 HIVE and got the Jumbo-Bee badge.

Power Up Month and Hive Power delegations

We aim to reward extremely regular participants, and those who are generous in helping others, by providing them with a 3 weeks Hive Power delegations!

The 383 participants in this Power Up Day are therefore in a good position to obtain a delegation from us. But they will have to be committed throughout the month.

The amount of HP delegated will be calculated according to the following criteria:

  • How many successful Power Up Months you have achieved throughout the year.
  • The total amount you powered up during the PUM.
  • How many PUDs in a row have you participated in
  • The levels of your power-ups on PUD (ex: you made two "level 3" and three "level 5" power-ups).
  • The number of people you helped to power-up and the amount involved.

The higher all the above-mentioned values, the higher the delegation you will receive.

Let's go for a whole month of power up!
