Imaginearia Docklands Excursion

Good day HomeEdders the weather is starting to get a little warmer here in the land down under although there was an icy blast the last few days but the weekend was quite nice.

The family and I decided to head out on an excursion to the wonderful Melbourne CBD where there is currently an installation at Docklands called Imaginaria. Now you might be wondering why I am posting in Home Edders and there is good reason.

Imaginaria is a giant play space inside a 900m2 inflatable bubble that incorporates light, sound, smell, touch and imagination. As stated on it's website it is a celebration of imagination, technology and play and made the perfect location to take the kids so they can learn about the different
visuals, light and physics in a fun and playful manner.

Little Miss' favourite thing was the leap of faith where you could jump off into a giant inflatable bottom pit. I have to admit it didn't look scary but I gave it a try and once you were up there it was very dark and the way the lights were designed it gave the impression you were a lot higher than you were.
It took me a hesitated jump and then a full commitment to do it and I loved it! Little miss just kept lining up to keep doing it!

There was also an interactive light ball where you could touch to move the light inside the ball as if it was a liquid. A light maze was a great addition which didn't look that hard but once you were in you really couldn't tell which was was out!

In the centre of the installation was a giant inflatable bed kind of thing that rotated and a camera above provided a distorted mirror image that when you moved gave the impression of a Thano's click which I found fun. My favourite thing to do was the inflatable tunnel. This thing was easy 10 meters long with a small entry and exit hole.
The first time I went through with the family it was good fun and then the next 6 times I raced little miss from entry to exit and size was on her side! It is very hard to move about as an adult male. I cheated a few times and launched myself in the air and landed near hear to launch her in the hopes of winning. Unfortunatly both times it just launched her forward.
I did however, manage to give a few of the other people some laughs as they went flying also.

You're only supposed to be in for one hour but due to many people still being COVID shy there wasn't many people at the event so we managed to kill 3 hours playing around with all the different awesome sciency things.

We also found an artificial inteligence bot which isn't seen in the video as we found it on the way out. No joke, I offended to AI and it turned itself off after it told me that it didn't appreciate what I was saying and I didn't even say anything bad, I was just trying to confuse it.

A wonderful learning experience for the whole family all though little bloke was a little scared he is still coming to grips that there is an entire world out and about.

Wow. Really looks a wonderful place to visit.

The leap of faith would be the most challenging and probably the most fun thing for me. I have a bit of fear of heights so I needed some exposure. 😁

Thanks for sharing.

It must have been a great experience to be in that bubble, the light show looks great and the special effects are amazing, the little one ventured out to have fun and enjoy herself.

Peace and good!
