The late distilled edition...

avatar

G'day mates, it's @mobbs. Ok acting Australian for that long is already too exhausting. Back to British. I say old chap, what's in the old STEMsocial Linen Draper today?

I always find some satisfaction in the discovery of things that feel relateable to me and current events, no matter how seemingly obscure or unrelated the STEM articles published.

This week was no different, as we have some things universally relatable to certain current events, among other more personal things. I won't spoil. Just keep reading.

Let's jump to it so you know what on earth i'm blabbering on about!

[Credits: @raj808]

This edition covers posts published in the period between 05/03/2022 to 11/03/2022. The criteria used for this selection have already been outlined in a previous distilled, which in a nutshell includes that they have been curated by STEMSocial, possess organic comments and their authors have not been awarded in recent editions of this report.

We encourage you to take a look at this choices and show your appreciation to the creators of this fantastic content.

Our top choices

Russia-Ukraine faceoff: Why everyone should be concerned

With such dark times around us, I thought it was best to start on a cheery note to help you get in a nice, relaxing mood: Nuclear war! In-house @gentleshaid gives us a brief reminder of why we should be paying attention to the nonsense currently going on in Europe. Even though a 'world' war may not be likely, one doesn't have to happen in order for things to be globally devastating. Well, read about it here if you want to cheer yourself up.

Do I need to add anything more?

Science And Technological Advancement In The Nigerian Economy

Ok this one is actually quite positive compared to no.1.

Nigeria is I suppose considered a 'developing country', and I do occasionally see it popping up in my news feeds for various reasons highlighting its rapid development as a shining example of African growth. Not least of which is the areas in STEM and their international collaborative efforts. Obviously, like any country really, there's a long way to go, but this is certainly a great landmark time worth noting!

General aspects of silage

I feel surprisingly ignorant after this one. Silage seems really important to get all-year-round food supplies for cattle and the like. But the process seems to be built on a lot of people standing on shoulders of a lot of giants.

Although the process is somewhat perfect, it's not yet mastered. Here is a general overview of the process and how it has come to be by @pinedaocl.

When Normal Cough Isn't Normal.

And at the end here we have surely not the least, a post about coughs gone wrong. I can kind of relate to this as I'm mildly curious about my own cough that has been around for, well, since before I noticed it was always there. Just the occasional tickle several times a day. But why? Thankfully this post put my mind at ease, since I have no other symptoms (which is more than I can say for @oluwatobiloba's brother) But at the smae time, I never knew coughs could be related to cancers and such. So maybe I should rush myself to hospital anyway!

... Maybe later.

Check for yourself to make yourself hyper-vigilant about your health!

All rewards earned on the distilled posts are used to fund the STEMsocial project functioning and activities. The author of the distilled, who may be any STEMsocial member depending on the week, gets 30% of the rewards of this post (and @raj808 gets 10% for the usage of his image). If you like what we do, please consider joining our community on HIVE and delegating to the @stemsocial account (85% of the curation rewards are returned), or trailing it.

Thanks a lot to all STEMsocial authors of the week for their very nice contributions to our community. For those who do not know what STEMsocial is, please take a look here, or pass by Discord or the Openhive Chat.

See you next time!

All of these selections are great stories in their own way. My biggest concern at the moment is the continuing trouble in Ukraine. So any information on that specific topic is of special interest to me.

@andy4475(2/3) gave you LUV. H-E tools | connect | <><

LUV in the dark? The confirmation-reply may soon be turned off. This would be to conserve and replenish Resource Credits. Even while operating in the dark, your LUV command will still go through as usual. You can always monitor LUV in your wallet, at explorer A or at explorer B, or best, in real time at the luv-log channel on Discord.

Thanks for passing by.

I guess Ukraine is the biggest concern of most of us those days... The future is at least worrisome... :/

Good selection, like usually! And it has managed to recover some article that tried to hide from my sight!

I feel there's a common theme to these posts, what with dropping the bomb in the toilet and holding your nose real tight from the smell but at least you have cleared your intestine like that silage...

Thanks a lot for passing by and your very kind message. And apologies to answer it only at the end of this week. The last week has been very hectic and complicated for me. being late with many things.

Enjoy your week-end, that should start in a few hours (at least for me it will).

Thanks so much for using my thumbnail design and the kind Beneficiary gift from the post rewards.

I think it turned out Okay in the end and fits in with the ethos of STEM.
Thanks again for choosing me to do the design work :)

It is definitely OK for us. Thanks again!

I unfortunately didn't use it in the distilled of earlier today, as I posted it in a rush and didn't had the link under the keyboard for implementing the change. However, please don't worry, your image will hopefully in future editions of the distilled. I tag @eniolw and @gentleshaid to update them.

Cheers!
