STEMng Digest: week 1

Welcome to the first edition of STEMng digest on the hive blockchain where we bring to you the latest happenings in the Nigerian sub-community of STEMsocial on hive.

This past week was not so eventful as far as Nigerian stem authors on hive are concerned (well, not up to our expectations) with a total of six unique authors supported by STEMsocial curation efforts during this period.

About the STEMng 80 hive giveaway contest

About nine days ago, we put up a contest to bring back some of our old authors in an 80 hive giveaway writing contest - 20 hive each for top 3 authors whose articles are adjudged to be the best by the STEMsocial curation team and 20 hive to be shared as a consolatory price as deemed fit by the management. All the rules and conditions to qualify for the giveaway can be found in [this post](https://hive.blog/hive-196387/@stemng/stemng-is-now-on-hive-participate-in-80-hive-conte-1588940992).

So far, only one valid entry has been submitted for the contest and there is roughly 5 more days to go till the deadline. Consequently, the management has decided to extend the contest by a period of one week to give ample time for more participants to submit their entries.

Our top pick for this week is the post by @steepup, Fueling wearable sensor with lactate; a self-powered e-skin. The post was submitted in response to the 80 hive giveaway contest. It provides for an interesting read about an artificial skin that is powered by human sweat. Feel free to give the author some support.
