Being from a country with a very strong spirituality. It's quite normal for animals to he affiliated with spiritual activities.
There are a lot of things said and unsaid about animals plenty things that have been taken as a norm. For example how Cats have been forcefully joined with witches.
One of those things are about the fact that dogs can see ghosts.

Now I know in the science community, paranormal activities is a bit of a touchy topic, so I'll save you the time and trouble.
It's been ascertained that Dogs can't see ghosts.

After meeting this conclusion, I looked back and asked myself

> ...so short?

I knew this wouldn't pass anywhere and it may possibly ruin my reputation 😅, so I thought of what to do and it hit me...

> Dogs can't see ghosts... But surely they do have other senses.

So I went searching and man.... It was a treasure cove of information. So I decided to go with this.

Ladies and Gentlemen...

This is.....

Dogs have very keen senses, indeed this is what makes them great security guards and protectors. In this rather short post I'll just list the abilities in which they use to surpass us humans.

sᴍᴇʟʟ

This ability is surely the most well known of dogs. Their sense of smell is upto 10,000 times better than regular people due to their increased sensory receptors in their nose. Infact their nasal sensory receptors actually number up to 100 million, compared to the 6 million that are found in humans.

This change in their nose receptors gives them the ability to smell great distances of over 40 feet (although it is dependant on the breed). They can also distinguish ncredible things such as; Cancer, Epilepsy, Ovulation, Bed bugs and even Emotions using just their smell.

For taste's dog's tongues aren't really as advanced as ours. They actually have fewer taste buds than we do. Approximately 1,700 for the average dog compared to 9,000 in the average human.
Although their taste buds are fewer, it doesn't mean that they're less effective.
In fact it's even more so effective that results show that they have a special set of buds for tasting water. This means that the water we drink as tasteless may not be so for them😗.
Another thing that dogs are tended to taste is urine. This can consist of its own urine, your own urine or another dog's urine😅.
A dog licks another dog's urine in order to learn more about the dog. It's actually the work of the Jacobson/Vomenorasal Organ, it urges them to lick the pee of new dogs. By doing this, the new dogs smell and other valuable information are stored. Hence if they meet again, they'll be familiar.

ʜᴇᴀʀɪɴɢ

This is another aspect in which a dog sense surpasses ours. Dogs ears are so great, that they can hear sounds upto 4 times farther than us humans.
Their ears are designed to gather more available sound waves and they have upto 15 different muscles which help to move the ear in all directions.
To actually elaborate on what dogs can and can't hear is pretty much so I'll leave a link.
Yet just to point out, is the fact that dogs can hear sounds in higher frequencies and lower decibels, hence they hear sounds that are too fast and too small for our own ears to pick up.
This makes them perfect for hunting small game and other activities.

Dogs sense of sight is rather different when compared to humans. They gave a wider angle of view but their field of vision in each eye doesn't overlap like ours, making less of what they see to be in focus.
What this simply means is that they can see further around them but can't always identify what they're seeing.
Their eyes are also very sensitive to movement. This is one of the reasons they respond well to hand signals and have great reaction time to chases.

Dogs eyes were first assumed to be color blind but we're proven to actually be dichromatic in nature. As such they can see colour, but only in shades of yellow and blue. Recent tests have also seen that they can see shades of grey, but colours such as red, orange and green are outside their colour spectrum.
Their eyes can also see in the dark. Just another helpful tool they inherited form their hunting predecessors. They have an additional reflective layer in they eye which reflects light back into the receptor cells in their eye. This doesn't only increase their night vision, it also gives their eye that appearance of glowing in the dark.

So now we know the 4 major senses of dogs and the abilities it gives them.
It brings us back to the main question...

> 𝐶𝑎𝑛 𝐷𝑜𝑔𝑠 𝑠𝑒𝑒 𝑜𝑟 𝑆𝑒𝑛𝑠𝑒 𝐺ℎ𝑜𝑠𝑡𝑠?

After hours of scouring the internet and reading through countless articles and texts. I was brought back to my earlier conclusion, that dogs can't sense Ghosts😥.

There are a lot of factors and reasons as to why your dog is just sitting down looking at a particular spot or barking at the air.
Maybe it just sensed a critter that your little ear and eyes didn't notice😗
Indeed the idea that dogs do sense paranormal apparitions is based wholely on the owners sense of thinking.

Although science is changing everyday and new things are to be discovered about this world and her animals.. so maybe I'm wrong 😏😗

So I guess that'll be all from me for now 🙂

Goodbye and a merry Christmas ☃️👻🐕
